Another Master Cylinder Bore Discussion
« on: May 24, 2013 - 08:48:04 PM »
From the previous conversation (http://www.cuda-challenger.com/cc/index.php?topic=87906.msg875904#msg875904) I ended up buying the Dr Diff MC with the adapter. It's a 1 1/32" bore. It works ok but since I have manual brakes it's pretty stiff. From the other thread, I really need the 1" bore to get some better pedal feel.

I'd like to stick with the newer style cylinder (2 bolt) with the plastic reservoir and use the adapter that came with the other MC but I'm not finding one with a 1" bore. Anyone know what they came on? I'm finding plenty of things that had a 1 1/32" bore (power only). I found another site that said the 81 Mirada but RockAuto said they were the 1 1/32" bore.

I'll keep looking but I was hoping for the right recipe.

Thanks again.

I used this MC with  a 1" bore and it works very good for me.  I'm very pleased with the pedal feel.  http://www.mpbrakes.com/accessories/master-cylinders/master-cylinder-mopar-style-1-bore-lh-ports-deep-piston-hole-mc11571p-m.

I did find a two bolt MC with a 1" bore if it helps. http://www.performanceonline.com/MOPAR-MASTER-CYLINDER-ADAPTER-KIT-FOR-MANUAL-BRAKES-MCA6274/.

Hope you get everything sorted out.

Thanks. I think I'll go back to the factory (cast) MC with the 1" bore. It will have the right pedal feel. I don't really want to go too small and have the brakes too touchy.

I just changed MC to the 15/16 bore and the peddle is not to sensitive. I have 11 3/4 rotors and pin calipers and can't get the fronts to lock before the rears. The rears are 10" drum with 7/8 wheel cyl. and a adjustable rear proportioning valve. Rock auto has a close out sale on the MC for $11.00. Part #E77018:P they are listed for 1975 ply duster 5.9L 360cid. Make sure it has the recess for the rubber bushing that holds the peddle in place.
