Att. TA owners! Hood front edge lip molding question?

I have a 73 challenger. I put on a Fiberglass, RT, power bulge, hood on my car. This hood was made by AAR/ Stinger Fibereglass Company. The original steel 72-74 lip hood molding will not fit at all without serious modification. I have looked at several Challenger front hood moldings advertised by Mopar Metal Restoration. They make 4 versions. One is for a 72-74, needs lots of mods to fit. They make a 71 version? They make two 1970 versions one they say is for a TA hood and other I assume is for a steel 70 hood. Before you ask yes I have called AAR Fiberglass they were useless and don't have a clue. A molding piece that would fit on my, AAR fiberglass hood (which I havn't put on) ataches with a clip and nut piece like a 70 hood. What I thought I would do is paint that molding the same color as the hood. This would eliminate some of the gap. Has any member ever had issues like this?

The aluminum 70-71 trim pieces would be easy to bend to fit the hood.  I can see how the 72-74 steel part would be harder to work with.  Since the front fender trim on the 72-74's is incorporated into the header panel, it's painted body color.  Painting your hood trim to match the hood would look good.  It would look out of place to have the aluminum trim on the hood and body color fender trim.

I ran into the same issue with the 70 T/A hood on my 72.  The original 72 piece screws from underneath and my hood (and I'm assuming yours) only has a vertical front piece.  I considered glassing in small pieces of angle metal to screw into but then realized the level of work required are far more than simply using the 70 piece and attaching it to the vertical part of the hood.  With the proper prep the original brightwork could be painted easily so it blends in.

 By looking at pictures of the 4 different reproductions, the two 70's versions are the best choices. Now the differences in those versions?

Ok, I found out more information but I wanted to confirm it. The new manufacture makes two 1970 hood molding versions. One for the TA fibergless hood and one for the steel hood. What they said was the orininal Ta fiberglass hood is a little less wide, so they make the TA hood molding a lttle less wide compared to the molding for the steel hood which is wider? TA owners can you confirm this? Thanks everybody...

My understanding of the difference between the 2 70 hood moldings was the clip package used to mount the trim piece. The steel hood version had longer stud clips than the T/A version. I believe the moldings themselves are identical.
