Motor mounts for 440
« on: June 05, 2013 - 01:00:48 AM »
Hi,

I have a base 318 model 1970 Challenger which I am re-building.  It came with a 440 RB on the side.  I am not sure what motor mounts I need.  Can I go with the stock RB mounts, or do I need a schumacher conversion kit.

Thanks, Chuck

for a v-8 to v-8 swap all you need are the stock mounts.  Schumacher mounts are repros of the stock mounts.  If you had a /6 then they have custom conversion mounts.  If you already have E body mounts you're all set.
Yes I own a 1972 Dodge Challenger Convertible T/A S/E with a 440 Six Pak. Can it get any more wrong?

You need the brackets for the block , the insulators could be reused but you may not want to given typical condition of them

ya, chuck the insulators. Too risky to use old ones.

I have some spare rubber mounts if you want to buy some as I went with the steel core ones.
