front end height
« on: June 06, 2013 - 09:41:38 PM »
Last time I drove the Challenger I heard something small and metallic fall off the car.  I was under the car tonight looking for anything loose when I noticed the LCA bumpers are very close to the frame.  They are only about 1/4" from the frame and have come into contact with it.  How close are your bumpers to the frame.  I think I may want to raise the front end 1/2".  I'm way lower then the factory spec but the factory spec would have put the front end WAY up in the air.  I like the stance now but don't want that bumper hitting the frame.  When I go over larger bumps, I've got a rattle in the front end.  I wonder if these are related?

You could replace the stock bumper with an aftermarket one?

That's what I did. :2cents:
Not sure if it a good idea if you are using the stock torsion bars though. Once you are 'hard' against the rebound bumper, you really unsettle the car (becomes unsprung weight).  Usually you lower the car and reduce the bumper size with higher spring rate torsion bars.

Anyone have a pic of how much clearance they have between the frame and the bumper? A measurement would work too.  I just want a baseline.  Maybe a measurement from the ground to the fender lip?

Burnouts are cool but Traction is the Action
