MODS - sorry if this is in the wrong spot.........
As some of you know my HEMI was a crate motor. (01- but I dont think that would make a diff) To my knowlege there was never a shaker base made for this setup w a single 4BBL. Or am I wrong? Anyway the original base that came w the car had holes cut in it to allow it to fit a holley DP. I dont know what it was originally from. But it was a real hack job. So I "made" (altered more like it) that base to properly fit over the carb. Using the ring and partial metal from a GM air cleaner. That being said it has always sat a bit high. I'd like tp put a spacer in for cooling the carb purposes. If the carb comes up the shaker has to come down. This is for Hood fitment issues.
So here's my question - do all the bases... 383 / 340 (but single 4BBL) all have the same offset in relation to shaker bubble height? I'm thinkng it be quicker easyier to adapt an exsisting base than start all over. And maybe find something used @ carlisle???
Am I making sense ..... ?
