Dave,
Great idea about the assembly manuals. I do remember that F A X O N Auto Literature (typed out on purpose so they can't find it on here) had been licensed by Chrysler to reprint the manuals (at least that is what was printed on the book I got for my charger) so unless they let the license expire they might be the ones who would have the beef with it getting put up on here. If not, I would say great idea!
Back on topic with what has happened with me over on Moparts...... I was there when I first got my charger in July of 2000 and had posted stuff in the (at the time) A12 Resto Forum. Being a Resto Forum, I had posted generic questions pertaining to B body cars such as suspension, drive line, etc. I was basically ridiculed because I had a "lowly Charger" and not an A12 car. Some people were nice enough to give me the answers that I needed, others had comments which could have been done without. When I stuck up for myself and mentioned that it could benefit more people than just myself since all K frames were the same color, suspension was all the same color, E brake parts, etc, again all B BODY STUFF! I was pretty much told to watch my attitude and then became a troll over there for the longest time lurking and just taking the info that I needed and essentially refused to post for my own good. I had started posting again probably around maybe 2008 or so when I heard about Dave's Challenger being done which got me interested again and started sharing my experiences and information I have accumulated over the years. I was even posting stuff on here and not posting stuff about our 70 Chally vert since this was a way better site (same for Dodgecharger.com, another great site!) On here I was welcomed with open arms and everyone enjoyed and gave great critique on our cars to help me better them which is all that I wanted. I openly admit that I do not know everything and urged everyone to help me pin point what was wrong with our cars to try and bring them back as close to factory stock as they could be. This site as well as Dodge Charger.com was a huge help and for that I thank each and everyone here and considered it an honor to be able to help others with the knowledge I have gained. Anyway, back to the Moparts issue. When I was commenting on Dave's car or some of the new products that his company was offering, posts would start to disappear, entire threads would get locked or deleted for no reason. I was told by an admin I had met out at Carlisle that it was because I was referencing Dave or ECS and that the admins there had a huge problem with him for some reason. He never specifically said the reason why but I kind of got that it was because Dave stuck up for himself and they didn't like it or if his info was correct, he stuck by it and didn't cave in. To me, if you stick up for yourself, thats just defending one's honor in my opinion. You can't argue facts! Ok, maybe some people can but if you go against the facts, you will always lose!
Either way, I am very thankful for this site and thank the Admin's here for maintaining such a great site. My family and I have made a great bunch of friends and gotten together with a bunch of people at the Cuda-Challenger tent and I even kicked in my own thing whenever I was at Carlisle with my cars..... my snow cone maker with an average of 16 different flavored syrups. (sorry guys and gals, we'll only be able to make it for just the Saturday this year as we are looking for parts for our newest vehicle.... the 69 GTX convert)
