1971 Challenger Parking brake cable clip
« on: June 10, 2013 - 08:53:12 PM »
Hey gang.
I can't recall how this thing goes back together. The original cable was broken. The retaining clip? Does it go on the inside of the frame or out the outside? I ruined the first one I believe. I'll need to get another one...

Thanks in advance...

The black piece (barrel nut) goes in first then the cable end goes into it creating a friction fit.    Clear as mud?

Yes, the clip goes in from the bottom first...then the cable slides up into it.  The rubber grommet that seals the cable to the floor goes on the inside of the car.  The three metal tabs are then visable in the wheelwell.

Dang it !!!!  Yes, it is clear as mud !!!! Maybe I'll use the other end for now to get the mechanism in place inside the car and then find another clip..... Does anyone sell these clips individually? I believe I ruined one........  :banghead:
