what glue to atttach clips to door panels?
« on: June 14, 2013 - 07:45:36 PM »
I'm missing some interior door panel clips on the bottom of my door panels. I have extra clips but am not sure how to attach the metal clips to the plastic door panel.
Its the square metal that holds the wire clips that attach to the door.
What would hold these metal clips?

1970 Plymouth 'Cuda.  Matching numbers 440 U Code, 4 speed pistol grip, Rallye dash, AM 8 Track, Shaker hood, 15 inch rallye wheels, Dana 60 4.10, Super Track Pak.  One of 134 - 440 "U" coupes codes built in 1970 and one of 100 - 440 Super Track Paks built in 1970.

"usraptr" = United States raptor - bird of prey = United States Bald Eagle.  FYI, somebody else thought of it first so I had to drop the "O" in raptor.

Note to hijack this post but on a side note.....how many clips are supposed to be on each door panel?? looks like there are 7 holes on the door, but my door panel only has 4, not sure if they have fallen off over time but it dosnt seem like there were ever anymore than 4 on the plastic door panel. (1970 challenger) ..i think my door panels are off a '71.

Thats my problem, my old panels have more clips than the replacement ones. I was going to remove the missing ones and attach to the replacement panels.

I've noticed that the Palco replacement door panels only have attachment points for 4 clips versus the 7 clips on the original panels.  The nicer Metro panels have the full 7 clips. The only thing I would knock the Metro panels for is that the aluminum clip attachment to the door panel is a very thin gauge and bends easily when removing the panel from the door.

Yep.  The Metros have 7 and they look melted in.
