« on: June 16, 2013 - 08:17:56 AM »
I have a stock 73 rebuilt power steering box in my 70 'cuda. And it just not cutting it. Way to much slack in the steering wheel. A specially on highway driving. So my question is. Witch is better Steer & Gear or FFI Power Steering Box. And why?

My 'cuda suspension

73-74 OEM rebuilt power steering gear box
OEM Hemi Torsion bars 0.920" diameter
FFI heavy duty 11/16" tie rod kit
Hotchkis Sport Suspension A-arms
OEM Sway bar
OEM Lower control arm
OEM Lower Control Arm Pivot Pins
Energy Suspension red polyurethane lower contral arm brushings
Hotchkis Sport Suspension Strut rods
KYB Gas-a-Just shocks

Rear:
KYB Gas-a-Just shocks
OEM Leaf springs (5 leafs)
Energy Suspension red polyurethane bushings in the leaf springs and shackles
OEM Pinion snubber

I've heard good things about FFI but I personally don't have either of those. Although after replacing mine with a stock rebuilt one I am definitely thinking of getting a better one later on.
Cuda is gone :(

I have S&G.... but the only reason is they were geographically closer, so it was a faster turn around. Have never had any issues with mine (level 3)

None at all. Starts to 'float' a little when you go tooo fast.  :bigshades:

I have a  FF stage 3 box and am very happy with it!  Zero slop!  At speeds above 120 the front ends do start to float but that is aero not the steering box.
