Hey Terry
 I have an 02 Caravan with the shift control on the shifter arm , the other day I drove for about 1 hr @ highway speeds , when I slowed down it tossed the engine around 3 times as if the trans was locked up & would not downshift , the engine light came on & it went into limp in mode , 2nd gear only . Iam getting codes P0700 & P1684. Is this the same trans in the 07 caravan without the shick shifter ?

Check the wiring to the trans for broken or damaged connector,  and input speed sensor for failure,  a 1684 could be a circuit disconnected or not making good contact

Thanks , I will look at the connections , I suspected the same thing as I have not disconnected the battery recently & did look at the connectors & such but I will check again
