Clock is unbelievable!

I was thinking of using crazy glue or epoxy to hold the rivets and clock face cuz I couldn't see a safe way to peen over the new rivets. Otherwise, easy.

This is the tool for crimping over semi-tubular rivets. It's also called a "rivet clincher". They come in various diameters to match the diameter of the rivet you're peening over. Not cheap from the searches I've done.

I was looking into buying one to crimp my new rivets on a light bar's blue lenses but didn't.

Still gotta back up the clock face and smack it with a hammer though, right? That's the part that worries me a bit. Smearing the clock face or denting/warping it.

Your 100% right. I'm concerned about cracking/breaking the blue lenses when I try to do my rallye light bar. In hindsight, maybe I should have bought aluminum semi tubular rivets, they may not need as much force to peen over.

There's an even more expensive option

When I did this, I put a 1/4" dia steel rod (may have been a mold pin, or piece of drill rod I had) in the vice, and then a rag over top of that. 

Then I carefully used a small ball peen hammer to peen the rivet over - you know the old school method. 

The rag kept from scuffing the rivet and the clock face.  I did it by myself, but a second pair of hands might have made it easier.  Just had to make sure the rivet was on the pin before each tap.

In the end, there was some minor burnishing of the paint on the rivet head.  I'll try to take a photo if I can.  But to me, it's not that noticeable.
