Intake?

I stuck the Torker intake I had on my built 340 w/ Holley 750 DP Ultra w/mechanical secondary. Will an intake really make much difference? Thanks

Sure, a single plane on the right engine could be a 20 or 30 hp difference in the higher rpms, over say, a dual plane. Any component
that restricts air flow will hurt engine power. Not that there are not some decent dual planes.
72 Cuda, owned 25 years. 496, with ported Stage VI heads, .625 in solid roller, 254/258 at .050, 3500 stall, 3.91 rear. 850 Holley DP, Reverse manual valve body.

1999 Trans Am, LS1, heads, cam, headers, stall, etc! Love to surprise the rice rockets with this one. They seem so confident, then it's "what the heck just happened?"

Isn't the torker an old single plane? I saw Chryco recommending the rpm air gap.

An intake can hurt or help power , it depends on the the design of the intake & the components matched to the intake powerband , using a stock cam with a tunnel ram or conversly using a race roller cam with a 4500-9000 rpm powerband with the stock dual plane 2 bbl intake is not going to make you happy LOL .
It all comes down the having the cam, intake, carb head flow , converter etc all working the best at the same RPM
