I was told to never use dish soap as it has stripping agents in it and can harm paint. Maybe dawn is different as it is used to clean dirty oil animal's after a spill. I still would use something made for cars

I use dish soap before the resin glaze as it will remove impurities like old wax and oils. After the resin glaze, you will have a very smooth and clean finish ready for wax. After the initial use, I will revert to regular car wash soaps. Sorry I wasn't more clear as to my process.
