Lack of Trailer issues
« on: June 22, 2013 - 12:36:28 PM »
I used to borrow my brothers trailer to get a car to Carlisle but he has since sold it so I am now on the search for a trailer to borrow or rent.  I think Uhaul is over 50 dollars a day which will end up being an extra $200+ on the cost of this trip . . . . Money is tight and not really what I need right now . . . .

Have a line on one possibly but nothing yet . . . .  Anyone have any ideas?  Do some rent a tool places rent trailers?  Does Home Depot rent them for a car?

Are you hauling parts both ways?

If you are only hauling back, how about checking Craig's list near Carlisle to see if anyone has one for sale?

Here's a place I found selling new trailers: http://harrisburg.craigslist.org/ctd/3838918981.html

But sounds like you need/want to keep the cost lower than this.

Good luck.

I would take good care of it. . . . I have a complete stabilization system for a trailer that I bought for my brothers trailer when I used it . . . . And would make sure everything is returned in satisfactory condition!  Please let me know!  Thanks for the help!

Are you going?

I have an open 18' car trailer you are free to use, but you have to come to Missouri to get it.

Yes I want to bring the hardtop . . . the convert is actually in storage still and last time I drove it to the show, it was like 100* and a blast furnace about 6 hours into the 8 hour trip home.   :eek4:

I told myself that I really didn't want to do that again  . . .  :grinno:

I would seriously just buy a trailer if I had an actual place to keep it!  My current home will not allow trailers on the property and I am lucky enough to have the boat parked there for a week or two.   :screwy:

He wanted $1000 for it and of course it was not maintained.   Would need new tires, Brakes, a paint job, and probably a new wood deck.  After I figured what it would cost to bring it up to my standards, I could of bought a new one.   But still would have no where to store it.  My brother is selling his home and moving to the lake . . . So can't store it there.

Too bad you don't have a back yard...  ;-)  Haha

Long shot, have you looked online for coupons or discount codes for UHaul?  You might be able to find a "weekend free" or "50% off" or something like that.  Pain in the a$$ I know, but could simplify things while cutting costs.

Just a thought...

You could also just give it to me - I can store it in my garage...   :poopoke:
