InLine Tube Repro Parking Brake Cable
« on: June 22, 2013 - 09:54:36 PM »
The Intermediate parking brake cable I bought from InLine measured 83 inches long.

With the adjuster nut threaded in about 1/3rd the way in, I'm still 5-6 inches too short for the passenger side connector to meet the 2 cables to connect together.

I think I need either an 88" or 89" intermediate cable.
ball ends aren't even the same size to fit into the couplers.

What body do you have and year? Cuda or Challenger? 70 is unique; 71-74 all the same despite catalog errors.  InLine Tube is aware of ALL this, yet they claim they are correct.. even their marketing mngr knows the error and i recently asked them to please correct this so other ppl won't go thru the same problems.  I recently went thru this matter (Fall 2012) with them and they allowed me a full return/refund.  The Cuda is 2" shorter vs Challenger, due simply to the difference in wheelbase.  Also, the Challenger cable is definitely wrong in length... you need to look up the DORMAN part to get the correct one.   And... yes, the ball-end sizes are also incorrect from InLine Tube.   Sadly, other distributors are also selling these same wrong cables.. perhaps they are all buying from InLine Tube?  there are posts on this matter within our chat line here...

Since I have a Challenger (actually my T/A is a 72 body clone), my length was correctly at ~90.5".  I eventually re-ordered it from RockAuto... (~$22) you could check with any parts store but their prices may be very high...  so, double-check the part number for your 71 cuda (should be the same for all 71-74)... the Cudas are 2" shorter than the Challengers.  Also, RAYBESTOS offers the same correct parts (only their prefix differs)... even the ball-ends are correct, unlike INLINE Tube and other's.

Here's another thing... if you need the correct S-hook, contact Bill Rolik Enterprises   201-394-5533  www.billrolikenterprises.com   again, inlinetube and others sell the wrong part (too short)... the correct part from Bill Rolik is 7" long.  Hope this is helpful to you.

Mine is available if you want it. 89"

It has the large ends though. If you are in a hurry you'll need to look elsewhere.

If you have a chance, measure the ball size for me on the Inlinetube part.

My '72 Challenger is missing everything. I can't sent stuff in or measure it, because everything is missing. I could have sworn, at one time Bill Rolik offered a complete set, but I can't find that now. I have the bracket by the rear driver side wheel. Please tell me who offers a complete set that will work? Please. Maybe list al the Dorman part numbers, or post a link to where I can find what I need? Thank you.
