Engine number location

Hello to every one.  I have a 70 cuda which is a driver and need to find the engine number . I have found the number just below the head on the drivers side , But it has a poor stamp the only thing i can make out is F_340_0__56 Could any one tell me am i on the right track ? Is there some were else i should be looking to find the complete engine number .  F  something 340 something 0 something 56  i think not sure  thank you little aussie needs help cheers . :bigsmile:

72 Cuda, owned 25 years. 496, with ported Stage VI heads, .625 in solid roller, 254/258 at .050, 3500 stall, 3.91 rear. 850 Holley DP, Reverse manual valve body.

1999 Trans Am, LS1, heads, cam, headers, stall, etc! Love to surprise the rice rockets with this one. They seem so confident, then it's "what the heck just happened?"
