Wow, that sucks. It will be easier and cheaper in the long run to swap out that firwall cowl section with a new AMD piece, it will be a lot better way to go about repairing this section, you will thank yourself in the long run for changing the whole thing out. :2thumbs:

 :iagree:

Remember to graft in your cowl vin stamping onto the AMD new part.

Nothing illegal being done so long as all Vins match that were originally with the car.

Its defiantly to far gone to save. I have been looking at the replacement stamped sheets. whats yalls experience on the different company's and the quality of their stamped product. I am really dreading replacing it. Any words of advice.

Simply go with the AMD firewall section, you will not regret replacing, it is much easier than patch fixing, just brace your door openings now before you remove anything at all, brace from floor to roof gutter and from B-pillar to door hinge, plus a cross brace from side to side will secure the lot to stop anything moving while you remove the entire damaged area. :2thumbs:

You are going to save a lot of time and your knuckles . If you replace it with  an AMD fire wall section . Good luck  it will look great when you are done.

:iagree:  Yep, definitely the way to go. Mine's also rotted and I bought the AMD upper and lower firewall. The advice about bracing the car is very good advice and don't ignore it or you'll make yourself a lot more work. You bought the car so right that you're still not in over your head here; just take your time as you seem capable of it. Put some rust paint on the inner surfaces, less the weld areas and do yourself a favour. Good luck.

The top portion to install:

I've heard of using the auto body epoxy is a good choice.
Reason being; is that it helps it become a better sealed, leak proof adhesion.

The factory had huge tongs and a dum dum material to spot weld them together.

So its been along time since I have messed with my baby. I have officially moved my car out of the shop. I have come to the conclusion that if the fire wall is that bad im gonna let my buddy who owns a body shop do it. Im also gonna let him do the rear quarter panel. The only problem is he is about six months behind due to the recent natural disasters we have been suffering.

So i pushed the car out back and covered it up and moved all the small parts in to begin work. It has been a long time since i have done metal fabricating.
It has been just as long since i have welded thin metal. So with all that said lets get to it.
