Hey Tom . .. I have been going to Nationals since 95 and it is just to unorganized and of course a golf cart extravaganza where the Carlisle show is organized and well done.  The reason we have an area for Carlisle is that is the cuda-challenger.com club meet and a lot of the members come to visit and meet new member, hang and enjoy the MOPAR atmosphere!  If you haven't been, you should come of 2014!

The Mopar Nats will cost you twice what you pay for admission, food, and whatever over what you pay at Carlisle.

They are different shows. Carlisle is more organized, but the Nats have the drag strip. It's all in what you really want in a show. I find that hanging out with other members at the club tent at Carlisle is priceless.

For me it's all about organization...At Carlisle your assigned a vending spot that's clearly marked and you can find the same vendors year after year in the same spots...I like when you pull into Carlisle with your show car, people help you find a spot in your class, once in the gate at the Nats, it's a free for all...

I like knowing that the food I eat is safe and fresh...I like having a clean place to get rid of that food the next day...even if it costs me .25 cents :smilielol:

I like seeing empted out garbage cans twice a day, not once a weekend.....I can go on and on...

I've taught you everything you know.....but I haven't taught you everything I know !

I've been going forever and only missed one year, when I took my Pace Car to the Woodward Dream cruise, which is the very next weekend. It is an 8 hour drive from St. Louis to Columbus. I don't mind driving it. I showed cars, then drag raced for 10 years, now I'm back to showing and going through the swap meet and car corral all weekend.  The HEATH cruise is priceless with open burnouts going on in front of the police till 10:30.

only 10 days and counting before I leave for the show!

I went to Carlisle this year and it cost me $55 to get in. The Nationals cost me $65 if I preregister, $80 if not.

Thinking I'll start pulling items from the shelves this week, and load next week. It may be out last year going as just getting too old to sell in the swap meet (hot, humid, setting up tents, rocky walking). We'll bring as much as we can, and sell sell sell.. If anyone wants any 1:18 we show on our site let me know. Jim / Supercar Collectibles 763/425-6020 (calling is best). Hope to see some of you there. Swap spaces K25-26.

So typically on Saturday, members usually get together during the show and chat for a few but I haven't seen any plans for this yet so . . . I plan to be there Fri and Sat and will be setting up a tent behind the car . . . We can meet at my car at 1:00 to 1:30 or so if that works for everyone?  I was thinking I would bring a cuda-challenger.com banner for the tent but don't want it to get stole . . . 2 years ago when I went, someone stole the aircleaner off the car next to me right in the middle of the show!

I plan to be there early and typically I park inside the gate, up the hill and around the turn on the left just past the sheriff station . . . Nice flat area there and all pavement so not much dust.  Some years I walk some of the other areas and all the golf carts cause so much dust on the dirt paths that the cars are covered!

So for anyone that is not familiar with my hardtop, here is a picture!  And if there is any doubt, my plate number is 4cruizn!

Bring the Banner. I'll try to bring another tent up so we can setup an area to hang out in. The Tent has to go on grass though. Jeff, 71340RT, can park with us and whoever gets there early enough.  The place gets packed on Saturday, so if you want to park with us, you have to be there early.
I'll be there Thursday afternoon, Fri, Sat, Sun-morning.

I will be in the same spot for both days and hopefully we can secure an area . . . Last time I went, I was the third car in line in the morning so pretty much had my choice . . . Picked the first flat area and went with it!

Rob. . . There is grass behind where I park . . .

I just looked at the weather outlook for that weekend and OMG . . . . If it stayed like that . . . What a show!  Mid 70*'s. and mostly sunny!   Low of 60* at night!   Picture perfect!   :bananasmi

Which gate and side of the track are you referring to?? I'll be sure to break away from our swap meet spots and hang out.

Through the gate...up the hill...and around to the left is right next to the staging lanes right?  Is that where you're talking?

Front main gate.

Here is where I pictured this Dave. Is this the spot? RED X

It is a flat area right ahead of the road headed to all of the swap spaces. Nice and flat.

Nice photo!   Yes you are correct . . . The area where you have the x is just about right on as far as I can see!  Maybe a little more around the curve . . . But very close to that.
