I found the problem and I'm surprised I had any fuel pressure at all. I pulled the tank and fuel pump out of the car this morning. The fuel line was split right at the pump outlet. The pump is fine. New fuel line and I'm back on the road.

That was a cheap fix!  Often, I see cases where the hose was simply not clamped down enuf and pressure is bleeding off inside the tank.

I assume you know not to use conventional line but used one that is rated for submersion in fuel :)

No I didn't know that!!! I thought fuel line would be OK. I was just getting ready to put the tank back in the car. I'm all stop now on reassembly. Thanks for the info. Our parts store is closed today. Guess it can wait until tomorrow.

You probably will not be able to find it locally.  the one you want will be rated  SAE 30R10.  R9 or R7 will not hold up when submersed.   The standard high pressure fuel injection hose is rated by the interior part of the hose which will not deteriorate  from the gas going thru but the outside will.  The 30R10 will hold up to submersion and does not split easily.

this is rated 30r10 according to Gates.  I also see oreilly carries it so you may be able to find it locally.  Note that price is for a foot!

Good info Strawdawg. Looks like I need to find some 30R10 line. I really appreciate your help.

That's some pricey stuff. Oh well, cheaper than getting stranded somewhere because I had the hose fail. Thanks again.

yep, but it does not take much and it lasts.  :)  Pretty sure I still have some 3/8" but I have never used 5/16".
