NO, not my wife either.  :nono:

I going to put in a new kitchen floor, so the 20 year old built in is gonna come out. Have a Frigidare, really never had an issue but I've heard quality has dropped over the years. Then was leaning towards Samsung... till I read the reviews on the model I liked. Then today looked at a nice Bosch... till I got on line and read the reviews... Dung around a little more, now I'm leaning closer to an LG model. Any one have a recent experiences??  :dunno:

I just replaced ours with a Whirlpool model. About $500 at Lowes. Does a good job. The difference in most I found was decibel levels. The  higher end units have stainless interior and that cuts the sound greatly. I think they all do a good job, just how much you want to pay and how quiet of a unit you want.

Well when my Kenmore (Sears) unit went bad after about 9 years (Worked really well), I put in a cheaper Whirlpool and it does not do a good job.  I forget what model it was and I realize there are different models but the one we got doesn't distribute the water well.  Sometimes the dishes are still greasy.  We got the steel interior and it is quieter than the old Kenmore.

Best bet is to see what other people have had for experience with that particular model.  Should have looked at the reviews and not just assumed they all wash dishes well.  :banghead:

I was very lucky in the past... store going out of business... floor model... done deal ..... worked great. Nowadays???? I'm not so sure, some of the reviews I've seen  :faint:  and not all on cheap units either!

Chris the brands you listed I'm sure are fine higher end products. We have sold all of them at one time or the other, currently carry Samsung but sell very few & Frigidaire has both el-cheepo junk & some better stuff (I'd rather have a cheep Whirlpool..)
My family has been in the appliance sales & service business for 40+years. All my mother has ever had was Kitchenaid except for a Bosh for about 2-years (that should tell you something) and Kitchenaid is all I ever put in my house.
We sell more Kuds30i & Kuds35f (mid line) than all other brands/models of higher end product combined.

Wade, your the guy I need to hear from!  :grinyes:  On another forum I'm on, I also got a BIG  on Kitchenaid. I was in the restaurant biz many years ago and all are stuff was Hobart. NEVER HAD AN ISSUE.  As I recall Kitchenaid was their consumer line. Is this still true?? I haven't been in the food biz for 30 years...

Sorry to say Hobart divested Kitchenaid to Whirlpool 20+ years ago & like everything else the product ain't what it used to be but if your looking to spend real money on a D/W it's what I call mother-in-law approved.
All new dishwashers have to meet Government water use/energy use guidelines which causes some washability complaints even with Kitchenaid.  They have even put a high priced unit on the market with a water softener to help things KUDS30S I think is the model.
Also Cascade Complete tablets seem to work better than the other detergents.

Wade I appreciate the info! Everybody around here has appliances on sale right now. You definitely peaked the wife's interest.  :grinyes: I'll have to do some homework tomorrow, looks like a bunch of places aound here carry them. Advisable to do the ex warranty thing??

Most extended warranties are WAY overpriced, we sell one offered through our buying group, Nationwide. I think for a DW under a grand it's about $150 to add 4-yrs for a total of 5.
Would I buy one?...probably not, but it's like most things like this, if it breaks you would have been better off with the extended warranty.

Personally I hardly ever have an appliance problem  :dunno:

Over the years I've never bought the ex warranty's... and never needed them. I have a buddy who owns a large apt complex.  over the last 5 years he told me he always buys them because the amount of breakdowns has increased so much. Not just DW but fridges/washers/dryers....   :dunno:  I would figure he's buying commercial grade but who knows....

Apartments usually buy the cheapest thing that will fill the hole...the real problem is the cost of repairs & parts has increased dramatically as compared to the product.
Also some products used to come with longer warranties, washer tranny, refrigerator compressor, dishwasher motor, even electronic controls on many items had 5-yr parts in most cases, not any more... 1-yr is it with just a few exceptions.

You need to get out more.....................  :poopoke:

Just a word on LG (Lucky Goldstar a Korean Co)....We were one of the nations 1st LG appliance dealers, they have had a national electronics service center here for years & we personally knew some of the big wigs.  After about 4+years of suffering with service issues we dropped the line about 5-years ago. They still attend our buying group shows and apparently are a demand line but we hear the problems are still the same.  Great product as long as it doesn't break & they make some of the shiniest stuff out there(looks good, easy to sell "features")   We experienced what had to be the highest infant mortality of any brand we have ever seen which was exacerbated by a lack of parts support from them. Waiting weeks for a given part for any brand can and does happen but it was more the norm with these cats...
They just don't get it, it's all about service after the sale.

Hi,I,m a kithen designer and designed over 5000 kitchens thru out 30yrs.wirlpool owns kithen aid, maytag, jen air, roper, and crosely.I would recommend kitchen aid for quality. If cost is a issue then go to whirlpool. If you want to put it on a credit card then go kennmore its the same as a whirlpool.Kithen aid usually designs the appliances first then it gets filtered down to its other lines a few years latter. :smokin: :dogpile:

If you want to put it on a credit card then go kennmore its the same as a whirlpool

Sorry but that is not accurate... At one time many Kenmore products were sourced from Whirlpool, never all of them.
Today very few are.
If you care to support your local independent dealer you will find that the price will be competitive on what they carry and financing (same as cash) is often available.  Sears loves it when you whip out the plastic, that's where they make the real money...& those extended warranties.  :2cents:
