Does this look like 3 yards of gravel to you???

I ordered 3 yards of 3/4 inch gravel for my shed base today.

Does this look like 3 yards of gravel...I excpected more i guess???

The gravel is sitting on an 8X10 tarp.

Not really. 1 yard fills my long bed truck up. In the center for what its worth.

I know that 1 yard is one scoop of the loader bucket and I think that is close from what I can see . . . .

I just had 11 yards delivered 3/4 gravel to one of my houses.
That pile looks exactly 1/4 the size of the 11 yard dump.
Had 5 yards road base delivered to another house of mine.
Looks like double what you have .

rock yardage is very hard to judge by eye.

Oh, not "My" houses, houses I am building for clients.

There's more there then you think.  I got 5 yards last year for my back yard.  Yours looks like 3.

My BIG loader has a 2 1/2 yard bucket... I'd say that's about right...

I'm an earthmover and it looks abt right to me.
What looks like a lot in the back of a truck tends to make an awefully small looking pile on the ground.

You might be right, but then my shed base will be done and I can build my shed, so very worth the effort.
