Howdy, plinking around and found this topic, so digging up a dead thread to provide some additional thoughts. Agree with the first reply that the slap stick is just a cool gimmick. Haven't driven an e-body in quite some time, but a bench seat with a Tuff wheel is hard to beat. With the arm rest down it provides some lateral stability the bucket seats do not. Is that why you often see them in AAR's or was the factory just pushing them out the door? Also a lot easier to sleep in the car(haven't had to do that since Car Craft Street Machine Nationals back in the 80's). Since I may have to sell the house to afford fixing mine, it is a consideration. While they were not factory available in convertibles, they are certainly more cozy if you take your kid(s) along. Sometimes your best girl sits between you and your wife. They were also not available in Gran Coupes, Legendary can fix that for a custom fee. I also prefer them when you see abused bucket seats cracking the floorboards and bowing back and toward the center.
