I haven't yet. I'm even more undecided than I ever was. Now I'm wondering whether to put headers on it also. OR, are the headers going to be more of a headache than their worth(been there before) which will make be wish that I had left everything alone to start with OR keep debating which cam will work best with stock manifolds.
I don't need to make a final decision until this winter.
Well you really do not need headers unless you are trying to get the most out of your engine for performance and scavanging, the manifolds will work fine, you are on the right track by picking a Hughes or Lunati cam, they would be my choice of cams too.
The cam i suggested will give you best bang for buck with out changing anything else but cam, lifters and gaskets in reality, it has a lumpier idle than what you have and will still make horsepower. Not a perfect choice, as there would be other areas like you said that you would have to change to get the most out of it, and you do not want that. Go that one i listed and you will be happy, matter of fact, give hughes a call on the phone and tell them what you have had as a suggestion and tell them what you want to do and what you do not want to change, they will stear you in the right direction.
