Hi! I have a '70 Barracuda, 225/3spd on the floor, B5 Blue/bright blue int., base model early production run#100322 that I'll be bringing back to life. it's been sitting on my parents farm since @'86ish and was recently passed on to me (can't tell you how long I've had to work on getting it ......). unfortunately, it's currently in eastern WA and I'm in CO, so it will take a few trips and lots of work to get it road worthy for the trip, but it's fairly solid and it's all there. 1st trip planned for the last week of the month where I'll do a full evaluation on her to see how much real work it will be.

I see it has the v5x body side moldings.

thanks! I'm just N of Denver in Westminster. it has bucket seats too and I plan on keeping her mostly stock, with just a little upgrade to let the engine breath better :)  not many of the original #s matching 6s left, most were 'upgraded', so i'm happy to keep her as is

What about the fender tag readout?
Does it have a build sheet?

Did your family drive it back in the day?

Hi, can you post some rear pictures of your Barracuda please :picture: it looks like a cool car to start with and save, Blue on Blue is cool. It looks to have the shorter side body moldings,  :clueless: i wonder if this was something they did on the base Barracudas with a small engine, i have seen a Barracuda with a 383 that had the longer side moldings that run full length of the side of the car and also have a pin stripe that fully surrounds the side moldings too. :2thumbs:

thanks for the warm welcome everyone :)

I'll have more pics after the trip in a couple more weeks. I plan on taking a LOT of pics. I have a partial of the fender tag, but I need to get to it myself and pull the decode, the person helping on the other end took 2 weeks just to get a partial, so I'll just wait and do it myself.

the info I do have right now is: E24 (225 cyl) BH23 (hmmmm....) 820 (build date) M21 (roof drip rail moldings) R11 (music master radio AM)

I'm pretty sure that isn't body side molding, I think it's paint. either my dad, or the prior owner, painted twin white racing stripes on it (faded now, you might see a faint outline on the hood) and I think I remember that being painted, not molding. I'll know soon enough :)

my dad was the 2nd owner, bought it for driving back and forth across WA St. during training in the 70s, parked it @86ish and it hasn't moved since. kinda funny, I was messing around in it several years back and was playing with the stick shift and got it stuck, I thought for sure I broke it ..... until this last year, and a little research tells me it's probably the tranny security lock, lol. i'm hoping that's the case.

Welcome to the site. Figure on brake and fuel lines since she's sitting on dirt- whl and master cylinders? Has it had coolant in it all this time? I'd want to get it good and hot to make sure no nastiness like frost plugs/hoses/thermostat/bunged rad show up. Take a carb kit and the necessary tools or score a used carb and take it with you. Plugs, cap, rotor, maybe wires, the list can be endless. It's a big job raising an old, dead Barracuda from it's crypt, but I hope it goes smoothly for you. An AAA membership could be worth it's weight in gold, too!  :thumbsup:

Those are pretty cool.  I've seen them on an actual car before.
I like the shorter ones waaay better than the longer ones.

so far so good. found some issues to be addressed for sure, lifting her up today to get underneath and view the chassis and pans. hood will need replaced for sure, one fender needs replaced and the windshield ..... stupid tree fell on her last winter apparently, thankfully only did this small amount of damage ... could have been a LOT worse. pulled the fender tag off and found one of the build sheets, don't think it's for my girl though, but I may be reading it incorrectly (build # is close).

on the lower doors, it's a "Plymouth" sticker (not body side molding), I haven't seen any others like it, so I'm guessing it's a dealership installed items.
