I am having an oil leak that is re-occuring and I am just not sure why.
This spring/ early summer I replaced the intake manifold gaskets, the distributor and valve cover gaskets to chase this oil leak I cannot seem to pint point.
After any car ride once I park the car off the bell housing drips 25-50 ml of motor oil. It is not from inside the bell housing as it is dry. It comes from the back of the engine flows down the back of the engine onto the trans bell housing and onto the ground.
When I replaced the gaskets I made sure to use a good bead of RTV on the front and back of the engine and it looked like it sealed great. The distributor was giving a little oil off but I added some RTV to the O ring when I put it back in for the second time to get rid of that oil leak. I have an oil pressure guage coming from that area aswell but it is dry and tight.
What am I missing? is there something back there that can leak a good amount of oil? or did my intake manifold not seal properly?
Aditional info:
318, A904, Edelbrock performer intake, stock iron heads, Summit racing distributor, oil pressure is normal and the guage reads normally no drops in oil pressure, distinct burning smell when driving.
