You meet some of the nicest people on the interstate in PA
« on: July 11, 2013 - 06:16:41 AM »
So I'm having a ball driving down to Carlisle this year in the Challenger, literally the best time I've had with the car to date. It's really hot outside ( no A/C) and the car with it's new drivetrain is working beautifully. The OD transmission totally changed the car, I love it! The car loves 80-85 MPH . Funny the new engine has twice the power and I also doubled my fuel economy!
So I'm driving for hours at 85 MPH through the hills/mountains in PA , the T/A hood reminds me of a big gorilla flaring it's nostrils as it fills up with air. Or like a whale feeding on krill. About 4-5 times I hit 115 MPH when I try out holding it to the boards( never done that yet) I have ZZ Top cranked playing "it's to easy to feel good" and then screaming out "Deep Purples-highway star " It was just amazing! Total freedom ! Just me and the road, tunes cranked for hours on end! :aarg: :cooldancing:! Best time I've had with the car yet! :woohoo:

Those that live in PA...... did you guys know you have the nicest State Troopers! Yep....spotted him too late and even the new 4 wheel disc brakes couldn't out do a radar gun! He turned out to be a great guy! Got me doing 86MPH in a 65MPH zone. He was REAL good about it though, he gave me a minor traffic  ticket that won't add points to the license. Funny at home the cops are ..... well they are not nice for the most part, but this guy was really cool! :2thumbs:!  Ticket was $112 I think I'm going to frame it and hang it in the garage, it will always be a wonderful memory and make me smile!

Yes,I did knock my speed down after that...... :sly: :roflsmiley:

I think what I need to do is ship my car over to Roland and hang out with him for a bit on the Autobahn! :grinyes: :roflsmiley:

Never had a car that handles this well and the OD is going to get me into trouble! At 80 MPH it's only revving at 2300RPM'S and with the first gear in the 4L60 it leaves the line like a raped ape!
At hwy speeds when you put it to the mat your over 100 MPH in seconds! Sure sounds sweet when it rev's! :aarg:

You got a disobeying , instead of a speeding ticket. The speeding ticket would have been 5-6 points and about $185 . You must have got a cop that liked Muscle cars.  :2thumbs:

Amazing how things work , more efficient engine with the capability to make a lot more power makes the 60 HP or so to crusie at 80 MPH far more easily = less fuel consumption  , I do this all the time & everyone thinks I am lying ......  700 hp & 20 MPG to boot  :2thumbs:
I am glad you are having fun to bad the weather sucked lastyear when I was there , I would have loved to go fo ra ride as well . Enjoy !!

Yeah Brad, some state troopers can be pretty cool, like the one who clocked me at 92 in a 70 last year in West Virginia...  :)  I think that one was about $136 after he changed it to 79 in a 70....   ;D

I get stopped for nothing. Memorial Day I'm stopped because the cop says my tail lights are too dim. I show him that it's not LED lights and they work just fine. He just wanted a look. The last 3 times I got stopped was just for a look. I don't mind, but it would be better if I knew it was just for a look!....Slow down Brad!!  :nono:  :roflsmiley:

Ticket was $112 I think I'm going to frame it and hang it in the garage, it will always be a wonderful memory and make me smile!

Back when I had only owned my car a few years, and after a long involved series of events  , I was surrounded by about a dozen cops. The leader, a woman, told me that I had broken every traffic regulation she could think of, but that she wasn't going to spend all day writing tickets. She wrote one ticket for "Extreme Reckless Driving." I held on to that for years with the intention of framing it, but it appears I've lost it.  :walkaway:
