Harrisburg, Pennsylvania is the closest airport that can land a large jet. The closest international airport is probably Philadelphia, but Baltimore, Maryland  is not too much farther.

But Brad's offer is probably better

I would take brad up on the offer but going international into the US & then into Canada & then back into the US & back to Canada & back to the US & back to Panama is a couple too many borders to cross !!

:wow: :woohoo:  oh now it's gonna be a party! :clapping: :2thumbs:   Just need Hemiken to get his butt over here too! :grinyes:

If you wanted to, or if it was better for you somehow, you could fly into Toronto I could pick you up and stay at my place and drive down to Carlisle with me? :dunno:

:clueless: huh.... I missed the lower part of your post...  guess I was just shocked reading you want that old koala hugger out there too  :roflsmiley:
Thanks a lot for the offer Brad, Toronto sounds good to me. I would love to drive to Carlisle with you  :2thumbs:  How many miles is that trip?  That sure would be a cool way to see just a tad more then just a car show  :bigshades:   Got your Cuda ready by then....?   :stirpot:

I just looked up some ticket prices and I just might be able to pull it off.  Can anyone shine a light on hotel stay / food ect. costs?
By the end of October I know if I get to keep my job. I will decide if I can go or not by then.

I would plan on $500 (US) for 3 nights at a hotel.  I'm sure some digging around can get you better prices, but as you've seen in other threads by now, the "Carlisle craze" is catching on and they just keep jacking up their prices.

Food won't really cost you much but that of course depends on your interests.  Plenty of affordable fast-food venues in the area for breakfast.  Lunch at the show CAN get pricey, but don't forget free lunch on Saturday at the tent!  Friday night dinner probably ran an average of $20 plus tip at Red Robin.  Saturday dinner was a smidge higher because it was a pretty decent place - steaks and seafood on the menu, plus drinks of course if wanted...  But no one seemed blown away by it.

Be careful riding with Brad though - he might ask you to pitch in on his State Trooper fees!!!   :roflsmiley:

so... if I fly in,  what airport should I aim for?   :clueless:

Hey,

If you find Baltimore, Md. is your best option, I'm only about 6 miles from the airport. It's about an hour an 45 minute ride to Carlisle....Unless you get there like me and realize you left your wallet at home and have to drive home and back again. Then it takes 7 hours to get there.   :banghead:

Brad,

My saving grace was having an "easy pass" that paid my tolls electronically. It works all up and down the East coast.

Then thankfully, I filled the tank up in the morning before I went to work. This car is getting over 30 MPG on the hiway.    :bananasmi

I would sure love to try and make it for once.
Would have to choose between a 40 hour roundtrip drive pulling a 5000 lb trailer load, or a $350 flight. A lot cheaper to fly and rent a car.
Harrisburg is the airport to fly in to. Flew there to visit a friend of mine back in 1990 and remember flying in right over the top of the Three mile island cooling towers.
I have a lot to think about

Tommy . . . You have got to try to make it!   It is some serious fun!   This year I drove out to the show with the hardtop on a trailer . . . Spent a couple hours on the side of the highway with a flat tire . . . Made it to Carlisle after 10 1/2 hours and thought . . . . Is it really worth it?  Then the show, dinner and after . . .  I laughed so hard Saturday night in Viperpunk fantasy land that my side hurt the whole next day . . . I thought on the ride home Sunday . . . . HELL YES IT WAS WORTH IT!
