    Spent most of the day at my chemo session. When we got home Cathy (my wife) says "since we are home a little early, why
    don't you run up to Roseville and see Dave".  Well she didn't have to tell me twice. So off I went to get some interior parts from
    Dave. And some torsion bars and boots. All I can say is Dave took very good care of me.  Thanks much Dave, I truly
    appreciate your generosity. I knew there were a lot of good reasons to deal with you. That's why I always recommend and
    support you.   :2thumbs:

    I just wanted to add my nickel's worth of support for your battle with cancer.  A little over a week ago, I had a baseball sized tumor and several feet of my small intestine removed.  At this point, chemo and radiation are not part of the follow up plan, so I'm very lucky.   Your journey is different than mine, so this isn't one of those "I know how you feel" things.  I did want to share with you two things that I've learned that you can keep or pitch:

    1. My wife and I independently adopted an attitude of "assume a positive outcome is coming until we get news that is specifically negative" that carried us well through some of the bumpy moments leading up to the surgery.

    2.  Cancer is a "we" disease, not a "me" disease.... the "we" being family, friends, & co-workers.  Early on, I really under-appreciated the negative emotional impact on and valuable emotional support available from those around me. 

    My heart and prayers go out to you and your family.  Hang in there.

    Dakota, Thanks for the support. And I hope that your recovery goes exemplary. It's nice to hear the great outcomes.
    As for being positive and a "we" thing, I hope I didn't come across as being a loner in this. My support group is standing tall behind my wife and I. And yes, that's family, co-workers (even donating their sick days to Cathy), close friends, and of course my community
    friends here at CC.Com. I can't do this alone and I know that. As far as having a positive attitude, I know I sound a bit negative
    sometimes, but I try to keep my head up and hope for the best, Heck, my wife and I are working on a 7 year plan. But I do
    try to keep possible reality close by so there are no "surprises". People have told me that life is what you make of it and I'm trying
    to make it the best I know how.  Thanks again for your support, Andy

    Some days are better then others.  "Time" is kind of a strange thing.  It's been three months now since his passing...those three months seemed to go by extremely fast.  On the other hand, it feels like a lifetime has gone by without seeing him.  I don't quite know how to explain it.

    No negativity or lone-wolfing detected... sounds like you have great support with and behind you and you're open to it.

    Well, went and saw the Doc today.  He cancelled my chemo session for this round. Said my platelet count was real low again.
    (That's what caused my heart attack at the end of June). So we're waiting for new results from the C.T scan and if my blood cell counts
    go back to normal then we'll do the next round right after Thanksgiving. Mixed thoughts on that, but at least now I know
    for sure why I had no energy. I'm missing close to 20% of my blood.  :22yikes:  He said to drink lots of water and take iron supplements
    and it will all be good.

    No. They just said take it easy.  As if I could do any different. Rolling the trash cart to the end of the drive winds me.   :smilielol:

    Apropos of nothing, after a "slight disagreement" with my wife, she told me to take the garbage to the curb, climb in the bin and just wait!

    We laughed so hard the "disagreement" was forgotten.  Attitude is everything, it's not what happens to you,it's how you react to it that matters. Sounds like you have good attitude.

     Saw the Doc again this morning. Good news. Blood count is fantastic, and tests show good progress. Dr. cancelled
    this treatment too. Said things look good enough, take a break through Christmas and New Years. We'll do a C.T scan
    after the first of the year and see if there is any sign of lesion growth. So I'm goin to a birthday party for little Vipergirl.   :woohoo:
