Fixing a 70 drivers non remote mirrior
« on: July 21, 2013 - 03:28:30 PM »
I have or should say had a very decent 70 Challenger standard non remote oval drivers mirror that was date coded to my car. I had it in a box and the cat or cats knocked it down and now the mirror is cracked and the head is very loose. Does anybody know if these are repairable? Anybody know who would do these? Who has date coded glass and how would I get it out of the mirror frame? And finally Does  anybody know any good Chinese food recipes?

R/T specialties sells the date coded glass. You can easily tighten the head when the glass is out. Usually
a heat gun will loosen the glue holding the glass in place. No recipe's for chinese other than cat foo yuu.
If I cant fix it, it's broke

I'm gonna assume without seeing your mirror that its the same as my 70 cuda passenger mirror which is within a painted housing. Mine was loose and I ended up breaking the mirror itself trying to remove it. Once it was gone then it was easy to see that there is two "spuds" that needed hammered down to tighten the ball pivot. A local glass shop made a new mirror using the metal mirror housing for a pattern in about 15 min and charged $5.00
