I purchased my leather Tuff wheel from B/E&A moparts and very happy for the price. I purchased the repops from other sites and didnt like the workmanship or the hard plastic grip. This wheel is really nice for $175.00. It went right on with no modifications. Here is a pic of the wheel. I will post a pic of it on my car as soon a get it loaded up.

Ohhh...yeah...that looks soo cool!!!  I like leather!!!  Is the grip spongy soft or firm?

But the wood...oh that is also cool?!?!?

I cant believe this choice is so difficult...I feel like I am the water park on spring break...I cant stay focused on one thing.

I do also like the wood Grant that was pictured.  Is the wood real or synthetic?   Did it bolt on with no modifications and did it come with the horn button and center pad?  Did any cars come with a wood Tuff Wheel from the factory???

Any pros or cons of each would be appreciated and I'll send a pic on my decision.

here's the Grant wheel that MEK showed you but with stain on the front and black paint on  the back

Those look nice and not as pricey or pain staking to restore like a rim blow.
who sells those? I forgot.

I do remember the post before on them available.

I'm extremely happy with it. I love lifting up on the trigger to shift.

I bought it from Gunslinger727.

Yes the steering wheel from E/B&A has the spongy feel to it
I would stay away from the Grant leather wheel because it looks good in pictures but when you received it you will find the production short cuts like glueing pieces of leather around where the spokes meet the wheel.
I also got screwed with shipping because of imported duty charges and two carriers handling the shipment. I wasn't informed when I ordered online about the additional $70 charge, the online site stated location was in the US but the steering wheel actually shipped from Canada. When I returned it i only got refunded the cost of the  wheel.  :pullinghair: So if you order from the Grant site be careful with additional charges.

Pros..soft leather, nice stitching, correct size and fits right on the the crush can.
Cons...could be a little thicker like the newer steering wheels or have the rear grip lumps but even the original Tuff didn't have the grip lumps.

After all this talk I had to go back and see where I got mine. Apparently I got one from Dales.

It's not spongy at all but I guess some folks wouldn't like how hard the feel is - but I like it!

Can't believe I missed it.  I just got the last bit of my $5995 saved up, and POOF, it's gone.  C'mon Mike, gimme a heads-up next time.

Now back to the cheap wheels.  The Grant wheel includes the horn switch and is real wood.  It's a soft wood like alder without a lot of grain.  I streaked it with walnut stain and then sprayed a clear finish over it to give it a little more character.  My only knock on the wheel is that the wood is a little larger diameter than the metal frame, so the edges of the metal are recessed, both on the outboard and inboard surfaces of the wheel.  I just looked at the Grant site, and the wheel is (A) more expensive than I remember it being, and (B) has a lot of grain showing in the small picture, so maybe they're using better wood these days. The site says the "color" is "walnut".

Thanks...now that I finished selling that old NOS steering wheel on eBay I guess I have some extra spending cash.  I'll go with the B E&A one and I'll shoot some pics when I get it installed.

Thanks again for the feedback.

Firstly I need to apologize to everybody on this forum (and their extended family) for not posting and telling you all of my  steering wheel purchase decision.

I know everybody in your family has been pins and needles and patiently waiting to hear what my decision on the steering wheel purchase would be…I know your children have lost lots of sleep waiting for my decision and asking you everyday “Gee daddy, I cant sleep!!!  What steering wheel did that nice man on Cuda-Challenger.com purchase?

Well without further ado I will announce my decision...have decided to purchase a …

:bananasmi :bananasmi :bananasmi !!!!!!!!!!!!!LEATHER!!!!!!!!  :bananasmi :bananasmi :bananasmi

Ohhh this thing is soooooooooooooo nice…and soft…and cuddly.  :droolingbounce: :droolingbounce:

The baseball stitching is soooooooo dreamy and divine…to die for!!!

Sometimes on long country drives…when I just can't stand it anymore…I just have to pull over on a secluded road and snuggle with it for awhile.

A boy and his e-body...its a beautiful thing!!!  (sniff...sniff emocicon added for dramatic purposes)

I bought mine from TuffWheelRestoration.com and it's really a nice unit but I got to tell you that their customer service really sucks!!!  If you ever leave a voicemail for them do NOT expect for them to bother to return it.

The leather on this unit is real nice and the stitching is perfect.

The question I had was would this steering wheel mount on my non-Tuff Wheel OEM crush can and the answer is yes…no modification to the steering wheel or crush can.

The next question was would my original horn actuator work with the Tuff Wheel hub trim and the answer is…yes with modifications.

The problem with installation is the three small threaded holes that attach the horn actuator are too small in diameter on the replacement steering wheel for the original screws to work so you have to drill and tap the holes so you can use your original screws.

The Nickel plating is tough so that I broke my tap off in the steering wheel and required a lot of bad words to get it removed.
Additionally, the original horn attachment actuator will work with the new tough wheel center trim however the diameter of the original actuator hole is too small for the replacement center trim to push into so I had to grind out the hole 20 thousands larger in diameter to get it to work but now I am happy with the end result.
Here's a picture!!!
