Rallye fender louvers

Just got a pair in the mail from a member here that had them for sale. Pristine, with all mounting lugs! Does anyone have a template or guidelines on where they are exactly mounted? Where to get the repro plastic inserts? Plastic broke when I tried to gently clean it. AND, once I drill the holes, whats the best way to seal the holes so I don't get rust through? These things are gorgeous! All mounting lugs intact. I am PUMPED! lol. Won't even have to repaint them. Just not sure where to mount them. Fenders must have been replaced? I don't know. Original '72 Rallye car. Was missing the louvers after being rebuilt. I want them back, my car wants them back. lol. Please help.

OK, lol! I have my switches boxed up for you to restore. I haven't shipped them yet. You drive a hard bargian! ROFLOL! I keep seeing things like this, (the louvers), and realizing that it's a once in a lifetime thing, and taking you for granted, and putting you off... SORRY! I know that your outstanding switch restoration is a once in a lifetime thing also. I get easily distracted. My switches are going to on they way ASAP - One other thing, I need to know, is if you can repair my AC vent bezel Someone apparently tried to pry it out, while it it is a bolt in from the back. That's why I was waiting. They broke it and I don't have the piece that they broke off. It might be a bit before I get my whole dash pulled out to do it right. As of right now, I got the switches out and boxed up. Then noticed other things - and I'm just going to end up puling the whole dash, which is what I should have done in the first place. It would have been so much easier. To get it all done right. Just wanted to know if you can repair without all the missing pieces. Mopar guys should NEVER let chevy guys try and restore their stuff. Breaking/drilling holes in un-obtanium pristine plastic pieces, wow. Drilling holes willy nilly and putting in a screw here and there. Crazy. It's not like we can open up a chevy catalog and order any part for $5.00. Sorry I'm taking so long in getting the switches to you Jim. One thing is leading to another.

Tony's Parts sells the new plastic inserts. From the factory, the holes were drilled before the car was painted. There was no need for a sealant around the studs.

Burdar, I realize that. I won this car in a raffle. They must have replaced the front fenders or glopped up the holes. The paint and body is fantastic. The mechanical leaves a lot to be desired. I'm thinking they broke the original scoops when they tried to pry them off. I have a pristine set to put on. There are no holes. I don't know if the fenders were rusted out or what. I don't want to go with the stripes from the louvers, I just want to put louvers back on. That said - The paint and body is beautiful. when I drill holes - it will be bare metal at the hole. How do I seal this? The fenders have no holes. I will have to drill holes to mount the louvers, and it will be bare metal where I drill, in the hole itself. That is why I was asking, WHERE to drill the holes, and WHAT to seal it with. Thank you for the Tony's part tip.

I didn't realise the car was already painted.  You can use some touch-up paint in each hole.  You can also try some "strip caulk" or thin butyl tape around each pin.  It will get pushed into the holes when you tighten up the louvers.

 Plastic for both sides was around $100.00. I'm not complaining. I'm glad someone makes it! Actually, that's pretty cheap. I sure couldn't make it myself for that. It's probably not a high demand item. Thank you TONY'S PARTS! Thank you Burdar for the link!
