Clear coat pinholes?
« on: July 30, 2013 - 06:55:02 PM »
How do I identify a regular pinhole verses a clear oat only pinhole? Can clear coat pinholes be easlily filled in with more clear?

How about wet sanding? Sometimes a air bubble comes up and if you have enough clear coats
you can sand it out.
If I cant fix it, it's broke

I think it had 3-4 coats. It been wet sanded already. If I still see some, will I have to sand all the color off and start over? Or, can I use a touch up pen full of clear to fill the pinhole?

As long as you don't cut through the clear, you could tape off the area and shoot more clear, blend it,wet sand and rebuff.
I'm afraid a touch up pen will always be seen. Depends on how nice a job you want too.

Sweet. Thanks guys. I'm about 75%  done on my 72 to 71 Cuda conversion. I'll start a restoration thread once it's done.
