Back in high school I put aluminum "vane" mags on my Charger. Drove about 5 miles out into the country, noticed a wobbling on the front. Got out and 3 lug nuts were missing. Retightened the entire car. After the second tightning, I never had a problem again. But I always checked them after wheel removal and reinstalling. On the OTHER hand, I was attempting to rotate my tires on my 'burban a few years ago. Got the lug nuts off (steel factory wheels) and couldn't remove the rims. They were rusted on. It had only been a year or so since new tires. I had to barely start the lug nuts on, and drive the Burb a few feet and slam on the brakes a few times to knock the rims loose. First time I'd ever seen that!
