Dealing with this guy seems like asking for trouble.  As everyone has pointed out, the car is not worth much yet the seller throws out numbers like online value of $120K and supposedly turns down offer of $45K.  One of the seller's comments from your original thread jumped out at me: "Have you ever been sued?"

My initial reaction is to walk away completely.  Alternatively, make a reasonable (i.e., low) offer and take-it-or-leave-it.  When the seller wants to negotiate for more, then walk.  There are plenty of non-R/T Gen II Chargers out there in much better shape that you would be money ahead unless you get this for minimal $.  If the seller wants to jerk you around, let him find another buyer.

If you still think you might want to bite...Tell him a number you're comfortable with and tell him that's it....
It's one of those cars that would be neat to get for a good price like $8K, but it's that that much of a heartbreaker if you don't get it...

I would write my name, number and offer (final offer) on a paper and leave it with him...

We will see where it goes, its not a "I gotta have it" kind of situation. I'll take a small wad of cash and it is what it is. Not like I don't have another project in the wings.  ::)  If I can keep it from Brad that is... :bigshades:

1-2-3-8-11 to answer your first question.

I felt I made a generous offer for what the condition/ provenance of the car is. This GUY has a BIG emotional attachment to this thing.

I was/am looking for a 70 charger for my wife, and this car wasnt a V code was it? I thought the other thread said it was N code.
With the amount of rust from pics I wouldnt want to pay over 5k for it, it is missing the tag and broadcast sheet. No numbers drivetrain so it is just a blank canvas I would say and wouldnt want to pay more then that as the AMD shopping cart would be very full

Yes I'd say rear rails too! Sorry for the wrong camera setting (BLUE LOOKING) on a few of the trunk pics. I peeled off the trunk mat.... and basically the top of the gas tank was the trunk floor in a few spots...

So you didn't buy it... ? Is the offer still on the table, just waiting for him to bite ?

The offer stands for right now. But he wont sell it, the emotional attachment is way too strong. Right now its very close to being a parts car IMHO. I'll put a bet on what I "know" will happen. By then it'll be down to nothing.............
