Another update.....
I finished "restoring" the heater box and blower motor. They came out good from a cosmetic point of view but it probably could have been done better but since it is under the dash I was not too worried about the "newness" look of it. I am more concerned about functionality and what a difference it is with the heater box gasket kit. As you can see from the before pictures below all the foam for the internal doors was gone as well as any gasket that was there to seal the box was either in bad condition or just flat out missing. I had no idea how bad of a condition this box was in from a functionality point of view until I bought the gasket kit.
On another note, the body shop said the car should be going to paint next week. They are planning on doing the door jams, trunk, and engine compartment. The following week they are going to paint the exterior. I expect to have the car back within 3 weeks and then the fun begins. :bananas
