Well it's been a little over a year since I disassembled the car and took it to the body shop and I'm happy to announce the car is pretty much done with the exception of a few "punch list" items. I have been taking the car out to get some miles on it so I can work out all the kinks (i.e. fixing squeaks, adjusting mechanical things, etc.) to get the car to run and sound good as it goes down the road.
What a long journey it has been, especially this last year. The restoration technically started about three years ago but stalled due to the first body shop I was working with keep pushing the bodywork and paint start date back due to they were just too busy with two other full restorations they where doing. After waiting for a year and still being told it might be another 9 to 12 months before they could fully take on my car I decided to work with another body shop (that was a year ago).
I'm looking forward to enjoying driving the car now instead of just working on it. Don't get me wrong, working on the car is enjoyable but it became a full on part time job to get it done before mid November of this year. The goal last year was to complete it in a year and take it to the GoodGuys Car Show in Scottsdale AZ. Baring nothing major, it looks like I will be there.
I have included some picts so you can see how the car turned out.
