Ok , so were looking for a "new" driver/utility guy at the shop. One of the BIG things on a commercial automobile insurance policy is a good driving record. My insurance company currently goes back 5 years. So this afternoon a guy comes in to fill out an application. Meanwhile another guy comes in to inquire about the position.   The first thing my manager stresses is good driving record. The guy tells him he had a ticket for speeding last year. Sorry.................. that's not gonna make it. Meantime the other guy continues to fill out the application he has.  He's only 4 feet away from the guy my manager is talking too.  So later in the afternoon, I do my customary background check.  23MPH over the limit in 2011. R U FREAKIN RETARDED? What part of clean driving record don't you understand?

If I could get a dollar for every minute of my time wasted... I'd own my own key in Florida!

... I started out as a driver for a local mechanic shop in highschool.  My boss then couldn't find anyone with a good driving record and even though I had ZERO qualifications he hired me.  I then moved up and got my own bay and did mechanical work throughout school working 65 hr weeks over summer

Now I've graduated from college working for real and having trouble avoiding defensive driving and the 6 month ticket probation plans

I found out that I beat out 8 other interviewees - not just applicants, but people who managed to get an interview - for the job I was just offered.  That honestly made me feel pretty good. 

Oh, and I have a 22-over on my record, too...  Guess it's good I do what I do, huh?    lol!
