The guy is looking for a "turn-key" driver...I don't think $28K is all that bad. You would never be able to start with a project of any kind and get to the same level for that kind of money.

HOWEVER I agree,  there are other choices out there for $28K.

 :iagree:
If these cars have been sorted out and are problem and rust free, then $28K seems like an attractive price.  If they have problems or rust, then they are not attractive.  If condition is as described, can't see any way to build a car for that kind of money even if you do most of the work yourself.

Like most people, #2 is the one I would want.  I once owned a 440+6 Cuda built for 1/4 mile at a time.  Great runner but big cam and lack of power steering and brakes took a lot of fun out of cruising in it.  After a few years I sold it and never looked back.

I prefer a 440 over 340 but "never again" a 440 without power steering!!!

Chryco, that is really tempting but the body style for the 71 and later chargers isn't my favorite.  I think the 69 and 70's are sweet but when they changed the back end on them in 71 I think they should have left it alone.  Don't get me wrong, they're still a sweet car and a 69 charger is probably one of my favorite cars of all time.

Mizzou, these cars are about as clean as they come.  there isn't a square inch of these cars you couldn't eat off of they're that clean.

As for the other links I'm checking them out now.  I never saw that site before so I'm sure I'll be killing some time there.  Thanks guys!

I understand completely , the 71 is more like the E body than the early Chargers but is a different car , I had to throw that out there !

A little related story:
In early 2009 when I was in the final stages of hunting for a nice Mopar, I ended up deciding between my cuda tribute and a 71 Road Runner B body tribute. The b body was originally a satellite (and my cuda was originally a 318 Barracuda). Believe it or not they are very similar cars and share a lot of parts. The cars were both in Connecticut, about 80 miles apart, and the cuda was about $10k more, but wow I fell in love with and wanted both!
Took a "weekend vacation" trip up there to check them both out, and fortunately, the wife wouldnt let me put our retirement funds at risk  :hyper:
and I of course chose the cuda.
But man, I often wonder about that b body I had to turn away from. To me, an absolutely stunning and rarely seen today style. Too bad more people dont like it. Ill never understand that.
Moral of the story....flip your coin, and dont look back.
But keep lots of pictures just for the memories!

ooohhhh...it would have been tough to turn away from that RR.  That is one SWEET ride.  I love that air grabber hood too.  If I had one of them sitting in front of me it'd be tough for sure!  I love that body style and wouldn't blink twice about having that in my garage!!!

I think if I were to clone a 1971 Road Runner, I would have used a 1971 Satellite not a 1972  :dunno:

sorry for the off topic, but....I started it.
 :stirpot:
Yes, the pic above was actually a 72 with a 71 front grille (which is easier to source), but they are almost the same car, other than the engine choices that were available at the time. Much like the 71 and 72 e-bodies if you think about it, but, with fewer dollars involved.
