I would think this one would go over 60k without a problem.

17k miles is where the speculation starts but she is a real looker and clean.

I'd say about $70k as well if it has #s matching engine and trans and is clean underneath as well.  Buildsheet would help too.

Not a huge fan of that yellow, but a black bumblebee is awesome!  I like it much better than V6X on 1970s.

I could have sworn that v code come across the block the other day and it was a no-sale.
IIRC the bidding stalled in the $40s and I was really disappointed. Chris whats his name (the "mopar" guy from the Foose show) did an intro to the car just before it went up, and it didnt help. The mopars were few and far between at the auction too.
But maybe it sold later??

As usual, tons of vettes, fords, porsches and ferraris.
There seemed to be more vw buses than there were mopars :villagers:

I recorded it and was just watching when a yellow 1972 went over and didn't sell at 42, 000. Maybe it was that one you were thinking about.

Master cylinder should be black.
Looks like a lot of extra holes in the passenger inner apron.
Looks like no black out on rad support (hard to confirm).

What are those 2 black things on the console to the rear of the shifter?  They look almost like knobs or buttons.

I've been watching the Mecum auction over the last 3 years at Monterey and I have found IMHO that the musclecar market has been weakening. Unless you have that one of a kind racing Porsche, ultra rare Ferrari or now the craze is multi-window VW busses for over 100k.

If you actually counted the number of cars selling at this show I would say it's in the 20-30% range and not improving from what I am seeing. I saw this same show pre-2008 and it was almost the opposite folks were buying 50-60% of the cars coming across.

I don't know if the rich have stopped buying cars as much as they used to or overall folks don't want to park their dough in collectables as much as they used to.

Crazy stuff and a sign of the times.....

20% of just the muscle cars or of everything?  You can use the website and see what sold and for how much. They usually sell closer to 70% I believe.

Monterey is a poor auction for muscle. It is much better for exotics/prewar which is mostly what sells there.  St. Charles and Indy are more of the muscle car auctions.

I'd say everything. Monterey seems to be slated to exotics now but it didn't used to be that way.

All I know is that if you want to nab a cheap musclecar the Dallas auction usually fetches the best deals of anywhere in the country.

Looks nice.  It will be high dollars and all dependent on the consignors reserve.  This person may want 100K.  Who knows.  Can only bid to find out.  Nice car all around.  As far as those 2 knobs, have to ask the owner.
