I love that it is a 383-4 barrel "N" code Barracuda and not a `Cuda, makes it even more unique, and it has some awesome options on it anyway, i love that it has a `Cuda molding on the tailpanel with the M88 code, the rubber bumpers certainly help to have to drive the value of the car up too, everything about it is awesome. I have a 383-2 barrel "L" codeBarracuda myself, it is good having something a bit different from the norm Welcome to the site

Did the car come factory with those 383 emblems under the "Barracuda" on the fenders ?  I'm restoring one as well and want to restore it back to factory. 

Also if it's not too much trouble could you measure where that "barracuda" on the fenders is? Maybe from the body line down and door jam to emblem.  Would help me out big time

Those 383 emblems under the Barracuda emblem are factory fitted, they were only available like this on a BH Barracuda that was fitted with a N-code 383-4 or L-code 383-2 engine.
I can not get to my fenders yet, but i can get measurements eventually if no one else can chime in to help you out.

Ditto what hemiken said, as soon as I am able to get the fenders off the car I'll pull the emblems off and take pictures for you with a tape measure to the holes.

Thanks hemiken, I've really enjoyed the site so far and it's nice to meet someone with a very similar car! Galen says there were only 602 BH23N's with 4 speeds built in 1970. My info says that the M88 code, along with the Cuda tail panel molding also calls for "Quarter Panel Tape Treatment". In my case I think that would mean a 383 Hockey stripe but am not sure, do you know what "Quarter panel tape treatment" is?

"M88 on an E-body is rear deck lid (chrome) moulding, M88 on a B-body is the quarter panel tape treatment, this common code for two different trim options on two different body lines IS confusing leading many to assume that M88 on an E-body is the Billboard or Hockey-stick stripe (which of course is V6*), the * denoting the color of stripe."

Its the (chrome looking) stainless steel molding around the rear of the tail panel.

I also forgot to ask, are you going to repaint the interior as well?

Awesome thank you - no rush When I received my car the emblems were off and holes were filled and covered.  Did the emblems just say 383 with magnum underneath? Can't see from the pic but looks like it

WOW - 602 4 speed Barracuda N-code, that in itself is cool
But like i said before and what HP_Cuda stated also, M88 on an E-body is the `Cuda chrome treatment on the tail panel, no tape or decals involved
Makes you wonder if you keep breaking codes down and yours having rubber bumpers to how many left the factory the same as yours, bet it would not be too many

Several folks have told me they were "Insurance Beaters", meaning the insurance companies put Cudas into a higher price bracket than the more common lower performing Barracudas. So when guys would special order the salesman might recommend a Barracuda to help with insurance costs. I have no idea if that is accurate or not, but I've heard it from more than one person.

Well, I had an interesting discovery today. I dropped the rear end and with it setting on the floor we noticed that it is bent. There is some body damage on the drivers side and the axle housing on that same side is bent what looks like a 1/2" or so. Also there is some damage from inside that looks like something tried to get out, gear pieces maybe. I am sure that when I take it apart I won't like what I find. As it is I think I need to replace the housing, I'm not sure if it can be straightened or not, or even if it can if I should. I've attached a couple of pictures but they don't really show as will as in person.
