Personally I have found the BFG to be very hard , poor in wet weather & a very poor tire

 :iagree:
I almost went off a cliff on a wet winding road up in the Santa Cruz mtns driving on them.
And I was driving slow due to the wet weather!

The question for me is if you don't use the polyglass or the TA, what do you use on a 15 inch wheel when you want to maintain that look?

I think the issue is more "If you want to maintain that look those are your choices, so don't plan on doing any spirited driving."

Not a performance tire to say the least, all they have going for them is sizing.
I use Firestone Indy 500 because they also have sizing for 15" rims and for the money..... I'm happy with them. FYI they are not autocross friendly though!  :grinno:

Nitto 555 DOT radial street drag tires , very sticky & great life assuming the burnouts are minimal
this should take you to the page , best pricing I have found so far

Good tire , what do you run up front?

Right now I am hooped , I cannot find a 235 or 245 50/15 anywhere & a 235 60 is too tall , I did find one Ferrari tire in 245/50 but $300 /  tire !! I was looking at a Bridgestone low porfile 50 series close to what I need .

OK but if you did run a 235 60 what tires would you consider for up front?

I have Mickey Thompson Tires all around. You get the classic look and quite ride. Running 235/60 front on 15x7and 255/60 rears on 15x8 I should of went with 275/60 but I am debating on going 15x7 all around. MT has great tires and a very good reputation on workmanship.

For street/hwy, I use BFG T/As.. 245-60-15 front (soon to be 255-60-15 front), 275-60-15 rear, both mounted on vintage TransAm mini-light 15x8 rims... tires are OK for cruising and have done a little hi-speed road course lapping sesions (bumping psi to 40 front, 38 rear)....  decent but nothing to be screaming about good or bad... they are STREET/HWY tires... 60-series helps to absorb the stiff suspension ride.   For competition autocross, I run Hoosier A6 275-45-16 front and rear on 16x10 light-weight road race rims... ultra-sticky (40 tread wear) and DOR legal (yes officer... DOT-legal).
Autocross/road racers go in deeper... and come out harder!

I would use a 235 / 60 up front & a  275 / 60 rear
 I need a 235 or 245 / 50 front with the 275 50 rear to keep the car lower

In my opinion, 235-60-15, even 245-50-15, is just too small for the front.   I'm stepping up to 255-60-15s for the front... will post pics when I get them on.   until then, here's another pic with my 245-60-15 fronts and the 275-60-15 rears... good comfort on the road!  My car is lowered front and rear as its setup for autocross and road course handling.

But what kind are they?   :clueless:

The MT S/R's are hardly ever mentioned when people talk 15 inch rubber, they have a squared off, meaty look. And seem to be a modernly designed tire. Not sure why most folks seem to be hung up on BFG's.....as far as I'm concerned, BFG's ruin the classic looks of an old car that originally came with bias tires - they are too round and baloony.
You want a wide front tire??? How about a 26x10 S/R???? Unfortunately they s/r's don't come in RWL.

I think I saw Toonces drive off a cliff on SNL years ago, I never realized he was driving on BFGs....
