I took my 1970, 440-6 barrel 'Cuda to a Cruise-In last night.  A guy came up to me and started talking about how they made Dodge Challengers starting in 1968 and how his brother had both a 1970, Hemi 'Cuda with a 6 barrel and a 1970 cross ram Hemi 'Cuda.  I told him that I did not believe that a 6 barrel hemi was an option in 1970 (or ever for that matter) and that I was not aware that the cross ram was available for street hemi cars in 1970, only race cars.  He said both were "dealer special order options".  I smiled and said "He was a lucky guy", and asked if his brother still had them as they are probably worth a ton of money today.  Of course, the answer was a no.

Mopars and fishing have one thing in common...Tall stories full of _______.

A few cold one's and they sound better. Even if they're not true.

Also the guy I bought the cuda from was talking about a (bandit) trans am he used to have with the 6.6L (400 CI to everyone that knows) 440 in it.

One year for my birthday my girlfriend threw me a surprise party, and a buddy had the job of driving me around to keep me busy so they could set up. On the way back his car died, so we got a tow. The tow driver found out I had a Challenger and he said "The best Challenger ever was the TA. Beautiful car, and you could only get it with one motor: the 426 Hemi."

I tried to politely correct him, but he was insistent. "If you're going to drive a Mopar," he said, "then you really need to learn about them."  :bigshades:

I was at the mopars  week car show in myrtle beach yesterday. was talking to a guy that had a 71 shaker car that was a 318 car. the guy wasn't going to put the shaker back on the  car and was telling me I could work a deal out to buy it. up walks this other guy and just starts running his mouth about all kinds of non-sense . :blah: :blah: :blah: :blah: :blah: :blah: he would not shut up. I had to get the guy with the parts to text me his # so I could talk about it later. don't these people realize how stupid they are ? they should have a class/section for mopar clowns at all shows!  :grinyes:

For those that don't know my car is a 318 Barracuda convertible. This guy (with his girlfriend) look into my car, see the rallye dash and ask, "Is this an R/T"? I didn't have the heart to explain things to him so I just said, "It's a base Barracuda, that dash was an option". Of course he went on about his knowledge of these cars.

A friend of mine said I should have told him it's an R/T S/E, then put the top up and show him the small back window. Couldn't do that, it's not my style.

These are great stories I though these type of people lived here it is good to hear they exist everywhere.

We took our challengers in to Green River Utah A guy named Shane yea I am mentioning names , he saw  my mates car ,and said it was all wrong , they didnt do the top like that, the emblems were in the wrong place and then he had the gall to say he was the most knowledgeable person about e bodys second only to Galen Govier ,

so I wagered him he had a new set of hood hinges at his home and I  said lets bet, (Phil bought the car new)he agreed and Phil came out of his room to tell the guy the car is in fact an original 30 k mile car and he has the order sheet , build sheet as well as the fender tag , well the guy lost the bet and I still dont have my hood hinges, but I plan on passing through there again  :blah: :blah: :blah:

My dad drives his 65 impala to work occasionally. And apparently some kid (by kid I mean 25ish) was talking to him about it, and said he loves Chevy's. They had a 49 camaro at one time but sold it because it was too much work to restore, my dad told him he wish he'd known about it so he could've bought it because it was probably one of a kind lol.

I was at a cruise-in a few weeks ago and a lady walks up to my Challenger and looks into the engine compartment.  She then says to her husband, "That's what my Chevelle had in it, a 440".  Her husband says, "No honey I think that was a 454".  She then made it clear in no uncertain terms that "No it wasn't, it was a 440 just like that one".  Her husband looked over at me and I just smiled because I could tell he had better sense than to try and correct her a second time.
