Well, I got it running again Friday night and was able to back it in the garage. By the time I shut it off, the garage was filled with smoke.
My wife started coughing and had to go inside. She told me later that she had to change clothes because they stunk so bad.
I started by taking a couple hundred pics of the engine compartment and the body. I worked most of the weekend on it...removing a component, taking pics of it(along with what fastener was used to attach it) then taking a picture of where the part used to be. I tell you, there are some goofy things up under the dash on this car. Mainly the e-brake mechanism. It's a completely different setup that I had to take many pictures of. Right now, the interior is completely out of the car. I'm leaving the glass inside the doors until it's time for the body to be worked on. The windshield was already cracked so I just broke it even more with a hammer and pushed it out. I was able to save the original windshield gasket that way. Dad came over and helped me balance the dash assembly as we pulled it out.
Last night I dropped the gas tank. It's brand new...so is the sending unit. That's $300 I don't have to spend. The fuel filler tube has a vent line running along it which dumps down into the frame rail. That doesn't seem very safe. I might have to figure something else out there.
Now it's on to the engine compartment. I'll be lifting the car up over the engine just like how I installed the engine in the Challenger. I'll post some pics once I get them onto the computer.
