OK, I'll start updating this thread then.
The car is stripped except for the brake/fuel lines, leaf springs, rear end and side glass. I'm going to wait until the car is ready to go to the body shop before removing the glass. That way, I won't have to find a place to store it and worry about it breaking.
The interior was nasty...the worst thing about the entire car I think. The seats had some newer Legendary seat covers on them but they needed to be replaced. They were hard from years of sitting and everything smelled musty. The hydraulic lines for the top were cracked and leaked fluid all over the rear floor. I did find a couple thin spots in the floor when I was poking around. I won't know exactly what needs replacing until the floor is blasted.
I think the car was stored with the seat backs folded forward because the seat back springs looked really rusty and the foam reeked. The top must have leaked and water just sat inside the seat backs. I wasn't going to store those disgusting things in my house and they were taking up space in the garage, so I decided to have them refinished right away. I took the seats to the upholstery shop and had them stripped. One of the seat back foams and one of the seat bottom foams had mice damage so I ordered a set. The seat covers came in yesterday....the foam should be here soon.
I disassembled the bumper brackets, the replacement K-member, and the metal inner fender splash shields. All that stuff, along with the seat frames, was taken to the local powder coater. I should be hearing back from him any time now. He is going to do some repairs to the seat back frames and weld up the K-member too.(box in the steering mounts exc...)
