New '73 Challenger from NJ
« on: August 19, 2013 - 10:06:53 AM »
Just bought a '73 Challenger, 318, 3 speed, bone stock other than a repaint. Plans are to bring it back to it's original color (black), build up the 318, interior, suspension, etc. etc. etc. Found this site while researching and overwhelmed by all the information.

Welcome to the site, and good luck with the car.
Easy to get overwhelmed with all the info here, I just have been going through the different subsections a bit at a time
and using a notetaking app on my computer to copy post that pertain to info I will need.

Welcome.

Where'd you get the Eagle ST's?

I've been looking for 2 of them.

She looks great!

Black would be a perfect color for it.   If you were to do that, I would:

R/T (or Rallye) hood
Rallye side scoops
Ralye side stripes in flat black
Front painted bumper w/all the holes welded up (or get a rubber bumper).

Enjoy it while you can before tearing it apart!  may be years before you ride it again.

They were on the car, hasn't been driven since 98 so not too sure. Sorry

This is close to the plan...Gloss black, satin black r/t hood, satin black cuda strobe stripes(I know not for the purist but I like it), satin black steelies and a red gut. Bumpers are up in the air

Welcome to the site and good luck with your new ride. That's a lot of work to go black, with that lime green underneath!

Digging around today and found a thread with a car description that sounded familiar...looks like the seller tried to gauge pricing on here before I bought it, small world! He definitely had high hopes but came to reality by the time I found it.

Thought it was pretty funny. Anyway here's how she sits today with new tires and steelies installed:
