door skin hole locations for side mirriors on 71 cuda

hey all,

after much door skin work on my 71 'cuda doors,
I decided to replace the entire skins, I ordered and received the new skins,
they fit and look great but come with no holes for belt trim or side mirrors,
I was able to piece together info for belt trim but now I'm trying to figure out
the side mirrors hole locations.

my old skins  where drilled larger, patched, and re-drilled (by previous owner) in different locations,
so I have no idea where the original holes should be, any help pics, or measurements would be great help.

?someone have a pic or measurements for hole locations in door skin for 71 cuda side mirror locations?

72cudamaan has the coolest tool for installing the holes!  Hope you have the same to help!

Here is the passenger side. The driver side I believe is the same distances.
That would make sense.

Or save the money and go to your local hardware store. Most carry the well nuts. I believe you need a 10-24 nut.

 I used it to mount my mirrors and for the rear louvers, cheap tool but it worked great for the few times I needed it.

To the edge. That's a 1" tape. Roughly 1-1/4" down.
Put your mirror base up and trial fit it before drilling.

appreciate all help so far on this,
I just need a little clarification on this,
again new door skins installed but no holes for side mirrors.
I don't want to drill holes in incorrect locations!!

I found another car, (from a 1970 barracuda gran coupe)
took measurements from, found different info all together,

driver side were 3/4 down (to center of hole) from top of door and 17 3/8 and 20 3/8 back from front edge of door (to center of each hole)
pass side 3/4 inch down, from front edge of door 16 5/8 and 19 5/8

should pass be 1 inch back compared to driver side?
(would make sense since perspective is changed when seated in driver seat)

HELP!?!

finished all fitment on both doors last night, ready to paint them but I still need location holes for side mirrors..

Well,
after much more research with no luck and warm days fading fast
I went with the measurements I took from a 1970 gran coupe barracuda, and drilled all the holes...
GOD I hope these are the correct locations.

driver side 3/4" down (to center of hole) 17 3/8 and 20 3/8 back from front edge of door (to center of each hole)
pass side 3/4 inch down, 16 5/8 and 19 5/8

they sure look right, with seat in place they appear to work.
