1973 Cuda - After market air conditioning unit
« on: August 22, 2013 - 08:37:41 PM »
Hello,

Last year I bought a 1973 Cuda. The car came with an air conditioning unit that hangs underneath the dash.  I am not crazy about how it looks in the interior, but the unit works great.  It has 2 dials; Air and Temp.  See the attached picture.   The unit was installed a couple of owners ago, so the guy I bought the car from didn't know the history of it.  So is this just an after market unit that someone installed?  How old is it?  Or is it a unit that could have been installed by the dealer back in 1973?

Thanks...Jim

Reminds me of an add on aftermarket unit we had on a '74 Dodge Pickup installed by a local shop.

 :iagree:

The original vents were in the dash and there were controls for AC combined with the heater controls.
