Car Covers
« on: August 23, 2013 - 02:14:46 PM »
I remember several years ago I bought a real nice car cover with a soft cotton like inside layer but I cant remember where I got it,  might have been special ordered. My new Cuda will always be garaged and never kept outside but I'd like to get a nice cover to keep the dust off of it in the garage. Any recomendations on what others here use and where to find a nice cover to fit my Cuda? Thanks in advance!

Mike, how nice does it fit?  is it tight around the body?   I have a good quality cover now, but it looks like it would fit a Peterbilt...  ::)

Bart,

I went with the "Stormweave". It's custom made to fit your vehicle. It has a nice tight elastic band around the bottom of it, so it would take a tornado to blow it off. It also has a nice flannel interior so it won't rub against your paint. I use indoors to keep just to keep dust off the car, but I do leave the car parked outside occasionally, and I can tell you it takes a real downpour to penetrate that cover.   :2thumbs:

I have a Cover Craft TF-80 for my Cuda, I bought it back in 1981 ( yes 1981) for my Cuda race car, then it went on my Duster race car and now its on my street Cuda, yes its a little dirty but still in great shape,
the under side is tan flannel..

I just got one from JC Whitney . Flannel on the inside . No pockets for mirrors but it fits great . I think it was just under $300 including shipping . It not waterproof but should be perfect for what you have in mind .

I am using a Cover Craft 3 layer cover. IT's awesome and its slightly padded so if small stuff falls on it I won't get a dent.

Now my dad dropped a ladder on it, that did leave a dent.

Overall this cover is great and super easy to clean too.

Had a buddy that bought the cheapest one he could find. it ruined his paint job. It had straps to prevent it from flapping. he parked his car out side under a shade aluminum thing. He would have been better off leaving it alone. Dumb a$$. I tried to tell him.

I got one of these. Plushweave. I store the car indoors.

FWIW, the cover leaves a bit of lint on the car, but I got a duster from Griot's garage when I want to wipe it down.
