    Cars worth restoring.....

    Which moparts are worth sinking big money into restoring and which are not? With a full restoration running tens of thousands of dollars which models do you feel are worth it from a return on investment?

    This is easy.  Original Hemi's, Six Packs, and 71 Cuda's (real cuda's, 340, 440, 440+6 and Hemi's).  All of those cars seem to be worth the most when restore regardless of other factors.  If you find those cars with cool options like shaker hoods, high impact colors, rare options like rear louvers and other desirable options it helps too.

    IMHO - this is a  hobby where 90% (or more) of the cars will put you upside down. Most of us do it for the love of our cars, not from a making money/coming out on top aspect. Granted I own a few that folks were all over me to restore. My 68 Charger is a good example of that.  :screwy:  Its a pile of parts... THATS IT!  Even if it was a HEMI code car....  :misbehaving:  Now take a look at my GTX 95% all there w tag/B sheet. but non-numbers motor. Also needs everything but nowhere near bad as my Charger. I can buy one done for much less than what it would take to get it done. Granted it would be a great project......   The 70 I just acquired I bought so others could live.  I knew that going in....  but even there, there are people who think I bought it for a project.  :faint:  http://www.cuda-challenger.com/cc/index.php?topic=94746.0

    This is definitely not a hobby where one should expect to make $$$ or have some amazing investment unless they paid Superbird $$$ in the first place.

    Think of it like digging a hole in the ground, dropping your money in it and coming back about 10 years later.  :popcorn:

    Yes, like others have said.  If you're looking for a ROI it's best not to buy any cars.
