Great thread!
Im mid 50s myself, and though I dont have any chronic pains, I have noticed its harder to crawl around and do physical stuff lately. But, Im also a contractor and find myself doing more physical work than most my age, including lots of yard work that can sometimes totally exhaust me.
I could stand to lose 20 pounds. I know I would feel a LOT better if I did, so thats my goal for the next few years. Start eating a little better.
As far as selling everything? No way for me. I have my daily driver pickup, plus the cuda which gets started up maybe once a week for 5-10 minutes, and driven maybe once or twice a month, especially when the weather is good, and then I have a turbo stealth, which also doesnt get driven much. I have been thinking of selling it to purchase another classic muscle car convertible. Maybe.
I do think it might help you to get down to just one "extra" car that you love the most, and stick with it as long as you can. It may just inspire you to stay a little more active. I also would love a viper, but the few people at shows I have mentioned that to all said the same thing. "Dont do that! Viper owners are all a$$holes."
hehe
They are about the coolest (relatively affordable) sports muscle you can buy, but you can almost forget working on them. If and when things break you can be assured of one thing. Parts are
and most of the more reasonably priced gen1 and gen2 stuff out there have to be looked over VERY carefully for prior accident damage.
Theyre also hard to get in and out of if that sort of thing might become a problem for you in a few years. For me, my stealth is one of those cars I practically have to put on, and vipers are even worse.
Think on it, and dont make any rash decisions. No fire sales needed.
